What an incredible day this was. It will be burned into my memories forever. I woke up at 5am to watch the sunrise on the majestic Piedras Blancas. Hiking for several hours without seeing a soul, I stripped down and enjoyed some nude time on the trail before continuing the trek. That video is coming later. 😜
Reaching the very crowded vista in the early afternoon was like stepping onto another planet. To celebrate my arrival there, I let my bare skin feel the wild wind whipping off the mountains. Video for that coming later too. 🥳
And finally, in the last 30 minutes of my descent, as I was about to reach the end of the trail, the overwhelming urge to feel the water consumed me. I did not want to leave the Glacial Region without taking a quick skinny dip. 🧊💦
In the video I point out three visible glaciers that all wash into the river, so you can have some perspective on just how cold this water is. But any athlete knows that when your body has been put through rigorous exercise, nothing calms the inflamed muscles like an ice bath. 🤗
Nothing makes nipples grow like ice water either. 😂
It was difficult at first, but through deep breathing and being my own hype man, I was able to fully submerge. What a feeling of accomplishment this experience gave me. It was a perfect way to commence an epic excursion in one of the most picturesque, sought after hiking trails on Earth.
