Kitten update (She is alive)

I was hesitant to talk too much about her because I don’t want to seem like I’m dramatising it for content but at least some of you have vocalised care and concern so I think it’s deserved that I give you an update.

Barbarossa, because She’s such a super special girl, has a rare congenital cyst on her intestine.  Now, I don’t know exactly what those words mean because I am of a simple mind but my understanding is that she’s got a big lump in her tummy that was there from when she was born yet shouldn’t be there and is making her poorly.

Lot’s of scans, more different kinds of scans and then surgery led to this discovery; unfortunately it’s not just a rare, but an especially difficult example of a rare condition. Because of where the cyst is, it couldn’t be removed without risking fucking up her pancreas for the rest of her life. So she survived the surgery, had the critical issues fixed, but the cyst is still in there like a little bomb that could make her very ill very quickly at any moment.

The vets are working on a plan to help her; apparently it’s ALL the vets. The surgeon told me that because her condition is so rare and complicated and because she is so cute (he genuinely said that), the veterinary communities that I have learned exist on WhatsApp groups and such are all trying to help her out ;_;

It’s a pretty epic and touching story really, she’s a little fighter; a really, really little fighter. The runt of the litter with death trailing her. Yet she’s so full of life, seeing her fight so hard to live makes others around her want to fight for her too. Now with all that support, even if she’s not cured, she’s got more time. Her story goes on, it’s beautiful.

Hopefully she will be coming home later today for rest and cuddles. Thank-you to all of you for sending good wishes her way, I love you

Hayo I have another kitten, it’s not the same one I had before, I found that one a home this one is his brother. A stray had a litter not too far from my house and I’ve been going there to feed them all, clean their eyes and make them stay comfortable with me so I can take them to a shelter to find homes. Unfortunately one of the kittens looked in very bad shape, his back legs were not working and after taking him to a vet he has a broken femur and a severe upper respiratory infection. I’ve decided to keep him so he has a forever home with me now. He is on all the meds in the world right now and there’s nothing they can really do until he grows a little more. It’s looking like sugary in the future but it may heal on its own. This little guy is constant work. With the medication feeding, cleaning after him (especially cleaning) combing the fleas out, comforting him. And it’s kind of hard to juggling him, my ducks, the other kittens, working on moving, taking care of myself and figuring out what I’m gonna do for the holidays because kitty can’t be in a long car ride. I’m just a little stressed and occupied atm but I’m working to find a balance and new routine. His eyes look vary messed up in this picture but I would like to do a little before and after here someday. Next time he’s posted here he will look vary healthy. He’s a big laying on his back belly up guy lol. Dispite having him for a week I still haven’t figured out a name so I will include that in the update 😌
