I’m trying a new shibori technique today. It’s called “hinode” which means sunrise in Japanese.
I’m really excited to try this one out because it’s going to create a lot of blue circles, and the background will be white. As I deepen my shibori practice, I want to challenge myself to create works that have more white space instead of blue. It’s more challenging that way. It takes a lot more effort to mask the areas out. I can’t wait to see how this comes out.
The fabric has been folded in half to create the circles, then get stitched and pulled. Later, it will be wrapped around a pole. I know this sounds abstract right now, but it makes more sense when I post more pictures. ☺️
