Stubborn as the sediment that stands so tall around me,
My admiration for you is eternal
I tuck myself into your crevices
Kneeling down, making myself small so as not to take up too much space
Conforming to the shape of your towering walls
Getting covered in your dust
Cut by the sharp rocks along your edges
Sliced open by the twists and turns of every bend
Little did i know
That the dark skies above brought change
The rain that fell washed everything away.
And created a new path deep in your canyons
Washed away every sharp edge that id molded myself to
And come to love
Every dirty dusty corner was now flowing with destruction,
And when it dried
The path was smooth. Rocks that once sliced me open were smooth to the touch. I could walk, without getting cut. Your walls were different.
The waves still imprinted on them.
The destruction washed away everything id come to know and love. It hurt being swept away in it…
But what it had left, was a softness i hadnt seen before. A path that could love me back….
