The forest pulsed with heat as Lauren stepped through the mossy undergrowth, her satchel swaying over her shoulder. Just as she paused to listen to the whispering trees, a flicker of light zipped past her face.
“Whoa! Watch it, dream walker!” a voice chirped.
Lauren turned to see a glowing figure hovering midair. tiny, fiery, and grinning wildly. Sparks danced along her wings.
“I’m Kindra,” she announced proudly. “Fairy of Flame and Desire. I specialize in lusty chaos.”
Lauren raised a brow. “And you always introduce yourself by nearly setting people on fire?”
“Only the interesting ones,” Kindra winked. “You’re the one with the magic sex bag, right? Mind if I stick a hand in?”
Lauren smirked. “Only if you’re ready for a surprise.”
Kindra twirled in the air, giggling. “Oh, I live for surprises.”
