A fun little fact for the next time you need to pull some trivia out of your pocket:
July is named after Julius Caesar, who was born during that month. It was a push from Marc Antony after Caesar's famous downfall. While the famous assassination was thought to be justified by his contemporaries and aimed to lead Rome into new levels of peace, it also "deified" Julius Caesar onto the pages of history.
July was previously known as "quintiles" in Latin which simply meant the fifth month as part of the Gregorian calendar. During Caesar's time they made adjustments to the flow of the months, solving some problems for leap years and the length of months, where July settled into what is now the 7th month.
