Auditory illusions - a deception that is a pleasure to succumb to ๐ง๐Have you ever heard something that doesn't really exist? Auditory illusions are an amazing phenomenon where the brain "makes up" sounds or perceives them in a way that is completely different from what they really are. It's like optical illusions, only for the ears! ๐โจThere are some interesting examples:๐ Shepard's illusion - it seems that the sound infinitely goes up or down, but in fact it just "walks in a circle".It's like Escher's staircase - only sound! ๐ต Phantom melodies - when after listening to a song, it continues to sound in your head, even if it has long been turned off. Do you recognize yourself? A "stuck" song is also an illusion! ๐ McGurk effect - your brain "hears" one thing, but if you see your lips moving, you start to hear something else! This clearly shows how much vision affects sound perception.๐คฏ Reverse Speech - if you play a recording backwards, the brain tries to make sense of it and sometimes "hears" words that aren't there. Auditory illusions are fun and weird at the same time. They show how our brain is not just a receiver of information, but a real wizard of interpretation. Have you tried such illusions? Want me to throw a couple of them at you for your experiment? ๐ถ Share what surprised you the most!
