Sorry for the long post, just an update on my kitty bub for those that were worried and the ones able and kind enough to donate to help ❤️🩹
So test results are in, she has a kidney disease 😞
They said it’s the biggest killer of senior cats (we also lost our childhood dog to kidney disease.. I couldn’t be there when they put him down and it still breaks my heart to think of 😭)
All they can do for her is suggest we put her on a special diet of pricey food designed to help manage it but there’s nothing else that can be done.. just hoping she still has a couple more years left in her 🥺
She’s booked in for a check up in 2 weeks where we’re going to ask about getting something for her pain which we learnt comes from her having arthritis which is common for old pets but still sad 😔
She also has a build up of plaque on her back teeth which is bad enough that she’d need to be put under to clean which is not only pricey but would also be too dangerous for her age 😣
It doesn’t cause her pain at least
So yeah not the news we were hoping for 😞 but she’s doing ok, we’ve made sure there’re things to step up on to help her get up on the beds she loves sleeping on and are adjusting her diet to the new food and praying she eats it (she’s very picky with food haha)
So yeah, thank you again to everyone who wished her well and donated for her 🥺 it meant so so much ❤️🩹
Still a journey to go but just taking it a day at a time and cherishing her all the more 💙
